The Candi Project's Expert Wedding Videographers Tell Your Story

By Marina Jokic

There is no shortage of talented videographers in New York, but the Candi Project has distinguished itself among its peers.

"We set ourselves apart by letting things unfold by themselves, focusing more on the story," Aenid Yu, owner of the Candi Project, said.

Chris & Aenid see themselves as a visual storytellers, and in that role they has developed a keen eye for seizing the right moments. The scope of their work currently covers New York City, Long Island, Hudson Valley, the Hamptons, New Jersey, and Connecticut.

The Candi Project has carved a niche for itself by specializing in cinematic and story-driven features and wedding films. Many of their clients have described their style of videography as heart-felt, showing the happiness and love between the bride and groom. They keep the couple in the spotlight without detracting from the feel of the celebration as a whole.

"For each client, we strive to create a wedding video filled with beauty and meaning by focusing on the story, the details, and the emotions," Aenid said.

Being able to experience their wedding day again on film is priceless for a couple, one of the most deeply emotional moments of their lives, and Chris & Aenid are thrilled to be an integral part of the process.

"As wedding videographer[s], we do not only capture the important moments and feelings, but we try to capture those raw, natural, sweet moments that couple[s] will want to watch over and over again," Aenid said.

As far as weddings go, The Candi Project is an objective believer in hiring a professional videographer because of the unpredictable nature of the event. Seasoned professionals have been exposed to all kinds of situations in the field, and are prepared to handle them.

"A wedding is a once in a lifetime event, and you don't want to entrust this special day to an amateur who's just starting in the field," Chris said.

The Candi Project has filmed over 100 weddings since its launch in 2012, an impressive experiential history. Unlike most run-of-the-mill wedding videography that spotlights the more clichéd moments of a wedding, they want to create films that can withstand the test of time and be as powerful to watch ten years from now.

"Meeting our clients at the start of their journey as husband and wife is a great inspiration for us to keep on doing what we do," Aenid said.

The satisfaction on people's faces is a great motivator for Chris & Aenid not just to continue filming weddings, but to capture cherished memories of people embarking on one of the most meaningful journeys of their lives.
