Studio 95 Photographix Has Everything For a Winning Photography or Video Shoot

By Pamela Sosnowski

For photographers and videographers in the Milford area seeking a state-of-the-artist studio for producing media, Studio 95 Photographix provides the latest state-of-the-art equipment for photography and video shoots. Owner and studio manager G. Gregory Geiger, a photographer himself, says there are several features that set the studio apart from its competition.

"We are one of the very few studios in the state of Connecticut that is set-up as a full service rental facility," he said. "Our business is providing production space to photographers and video creators. Both studios have lighting grids, a wide variety of backgrounds, custom hand-painted canvas; muslins; paper and fabrics along with several different wall textures. As I am a certified professional photographer that has 20 years of video experience, I can assist you with your set-up or manage your photo and video needs."

In 2014 the studio moved to an expanded location in Milford, and the building is comprised of two studios that can be combined to create a large space that is 75' long by 25' wide. As an example of the studio's high-tech capabilities, one of its features is an electric eight-roller background system that allows for a rapid change of backgrounds such as photographic papers and muslins. The lighting can be changed just as quickly and easily, thanks to the ceiling-mounted roller system that contains eight different light heads and a selection of soft boxes that create a variety of lighting effects and atmospheres. For photographers that need natural light, there are two large plexiglass garage doors that can be opened to let in daylight.

Other features include various drapes and sheer fabric on hooks for background drops, multiple background sets and floor types, ceiling access to suspend props, full access to a variety of props, furniture options, and more. The two garage doors are large enough for to allow access for small cars, motorcycles, and other large props. Additionally, Geiger said if there is something special that a photographer needs for a shoot, they can be of assistance.

"We are always adding new and exciting props and sets," he said. "If there is something specific you are looking for, let us know and we'll do our best to make it happen exactly the way you were hoping it would."

For models, there is a comfortable 12' X 8' makeup room featuring a wall-mounted full-length mirror, clothing rods, shelves for footwear and accessories, and also a waiting area featuring cable TV and a Blu-Ray player. A separate changing room contains four booths to allow for wardrobe changes in privacy. An in-house model is also available for an additional fee.

Rates start at $50 per hour for photo rental and $75 per hour for video, with additional services provided on a per quote basis. For professionals that have a recurring need for the space, Studio 95 Photographix offers a Photo Club Membership program to provide access at three affordable rates depending upon a client's needs.

"Our studio is built on a strong foundation of honest work ethics, years of varied experience, open minds and a desire to help you create in a convenient, comfortable, safe and full service environment," Geiger said. "If you shoot at Studio 95 Photographix you will be working in an environment that is just like it was your own studio."
