Ruth Lapin Events Are Spectacular And Flawless

By S. Mathur

Ruth Lapin events are spectacular, meticulously planned, and memorable. Clients report that she will handle all details, from choosing the venue, music and flowers to planning the menu and taking care of guests. And if that were not enough, she's fun to work with, and will even save you money with her contacts and creativity.

Ruth Lapin founded the eponymous company in New York City in 2000. The boutique event consulting company offers unique planning solutions for individual celebrations and corporate functions. It specializes in LGBTQ events and Gay and Lesbian weddings. Partnering with venues, photographers, caterers and designers, Ruth Lapin pulls off one flawless event after another.

For Lapin, it's all about the details.

"Anyone who has ever tried to coordinate something as 'simple' as a cocktail toast or even a toddler's birthday party understands that event planning can be an ordeal," she said. "Schedules to juggle, last minute details and emergencies you don't have time for, dealing and negotiating with vendors, unusual guest demands, crises of all kinds. Do you really want to hassle with that guy who says he can get you balloons "cheap" but you have to buy 1,000 minimum and they only come in brown?"

Lapin draws upon her training in photography and journalism, and her experience in the fashion and garden industries. Another major asset is her knowledge of New York City, which comes from long acquaintance. For weddings, the company offers a range of services for all budgets. These can go from full-service planner to a "day of" coordinator. It helps that as an experienced events planner, Lapin knows how to roll with the punches and is a seasoned firefighter, metaphorically speaking.

While the greater New York area is her home turf, Lapin also does destination weddings, and can arrange a dream wedding at a Caribbean resort, an African safari, an English castle, a French Chateau or an Italian villa. Corporate events include openings, new product launches, company retreats, holiday parties and private dinners.

Lapin has used her event planning skills for good causes as well, beginning with a fundraiser for Haiti following the earthquake.

"I travelled to Haiti twice to bring food and supplies," she said. "I devoted my time raising much needed funds for several organizations including Wings Over Haiti. Each year, I continue to produce at least one event to help a not for profit that benefits the children of Haiti in some way."

Lapin continues to widen her horizons and recently took a photography trip to Cuba. She is now helping to promote the work of Cuban photographers.
