Nothing Tastes Like the Frites of NY

By Elisha Neubauer

More than just a food truck, Frites of NY is a full-blown mobile kitchen ready and willing to cook up your wildest dreams. Currently the Frites truck is servicing areas such as Dutchess, Ulster, Columbia, Putnam, Westchester and Orange Counties in NY, and Danbury CT and is serving up a killer road side menu consisting of all different kinds of street fries.

If you're wondering what street fries are, simply put, they are fries with delicious stuff on top.

"All of your favorite sandwiches, no bread, right on top of fries," Jeanne Stenswold, owner/event coordinator, said.

With the exception of the truck's kids' menu (nuggets, hot dogs and grilled cheese), the entire menu is gluten free.

"We have a designated gluten free fryer and thicken our sauces with corn starch," Stenswold said.

Reasonably priced, these gourmet fries are available in a wide variety of flavors. Favorites include The Notorious P.I.G., madwe with pulled pork, fried onion strings, homemade slaw, and bbq; The Greek, which consists of gyro meat with diced tomatoes, onions and tzatziki sauce; The Disco, with rich homemade gravy, cheddar cheese curd, and scallions; and The Caprese, crafted from shredded mozzarella, diced tomato, fresh basil, and balsamic drizzle

While fries are where they seem to focus at the moment, they are fully capable of whipping up anything your event desires.

"We have a full kitchen inside our trailer, so we are able to fully customize menus including buffets (no fries) and full service plated dinners," Stenswold said.

In addition to catered events, Frites of NY offers a personal chef experience. It includes three delectable courses to serve, including a mouthwatering delicious dessert. It's great for date nights, proposals, anniversaries, and more.

"We learn something new and meet great people everywhere we go," Stenswold said. "No two days are ever the same."
