Melly P's Is One Tasty Food Truck

By Keith Donaldson

New Haven County has one of the most delicious, mobile food options in the Nutmeg State: Melly P's. The food truck offers an exciting menu that has kept the bellies of the denizens of Southwestern Connecticut filled and satisfied. Owner Mellisa Pandolfi took some time to answer our questions about her truck.

How would you describe your menu?

Our menu is simple and fun. We serve a variety of paninis; ranging from a vegetarian with local vegetables and cheese to a classic: sliced prosciutto, vine ripe tomatoes and local fresh mozzarella drizzled with pesto, to a fun panini that we call the Italian Bomb (sliced ham, pepperoni, salami, capicola, provolone, roasted red peppers, drizzled with our homemade house dresssing). All of our paninis are served with fresh-cut fries which we cut on the truck. Our menu changes every time our truck goes out, to ensure we have the freshest ingredients for our customers.

What separates your business from competitors?

Our truck is unique serving paninis and fresh-cut fries. When building my business model, I did a lot of research on what kind of food trucks are we missing in the New Haven County.

What else would you like to convey to the public about your business? What do you enjoy about your job?

Born from passion and hard-won expertise, Melly P's is the brainchild of a chef with big recipes on her mind and an even bigger love of those recipes in her heart. It's a food truck here to give Connecticut and New Haven County area more flavor than it can handle, all between bread.

Hard-pressed panini is the name of the game, and it's a game Melly's come to win, with local, wholesome ingredients and unparalleled technique. Hot dogs and hand-cut fries pressed into a panini round off a menu that's sustainably fresh and always inspired. Melly P's is also a food truck ready to serve any private events you have in mind, so to provide your guests with food that's not just made to order but made with love, hit them up and get to pressing.
