Boston Area's Silk Events Brings Their Passion for Music and Lighting to Life

By Elisha Neubauer

In Boston, Massachusetts, Silk Events is doing Indian and South Asian weddings right. You want your wedding to be perfect. We get it. It's your big day and you should have it just right. But when your wedding isn't the run of the mill, average all-American wedding, who do you turn to? Well, if you're wedding is based on Indian or South Asian culture, you've found a helping hand in Silk Events.

Silk Events was the brain-child of Rishi Bawa, who saw a gap in the provision for such a niche clientele. He took it upon himself to fill this void?and fill it he did. Today, his company is the number one provider of Indian and South Asian wedding Djs and lighting in the Boston area.

While the company is grounded in the Boston area, they do enjoy travelling. They have participated in events in such places as Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Maine, Connecticut, and beyond. They also love destination weddings just as much as the Bride and Groom! Their acts have graced the stages of venues like Fenway Park, the Boston Museum of Science, the Boston Aquarium, and the Odyssey Cruise Line.

Their list of services covers just about everything you need for a truly spectacular event- such as Deejaying, Dhol, Mobile Baraat (including drummers), Classical Instrument players, Uplighting, Pattern Spotlights, Custom Monogram, White Dance Floor, and Chiavari Chairs.

"Our team is made up of a diverse group of musicians and entertainers who specialize in many types of music," says Bawa. "Sharing our knowledge allows us to customize what we play to the tastes of our audience." In fact, Bawa and his team are always on the lookout for technological developments in both sound and lighting which would enhance the ultimate experience they provide to their clients and their guests. Bawa attributes their balance of music, tech, and excellent service for their success in the industry.

But, they're not only for weddings. They love getting out and partying with everyone at just about any event ranging from birthday parties and sweet 16s to semi-formals, corporate events, and after parties. "Music is our passion and drives everything we do," affirms Bawa. "No matter the type or size of event we dedicate ourselves to creating an unforgettable day for our couples and clients."
